About the developer (Lea Baker)
When I was around 3 years old my dad taught me to harmonise. We'd sing songs together all the time - he'd teach me the melody and he would sing a harmony part. Pretty soon we were swapping harmonies all over the place, I developed a great 'ear' and this set me up for a wonderful career in music. The way I learnt to harmonise (by ear) gave me the idea to develop 'Harmony Hamsters'.
I've been singing all my life and I'm a full time voice teacher / vocal coach in Sydney, Australia. My business is Raise Your Voice. In 1991 I discovered what I consider to be the best harmony singing organisation (for women anyway) in the world - Sweet Adelines International. In 1996 I founded and became the Musical Director of my own chorus who sing this fabulous 4-part harmony acappella (unaccompanied) style of singing, the Endeavour Harmony Chorus in Sydney, Australia. I'm very proud of our achievements. We are the current Australian Champions (for the 3rd time) and will be representing Australia on the international stage in Hawaii, November 2013. I've also been an avid quartet singing for years. I currently sing baritone in Andiamo, a female quartet that specialise in 4-part acappella harmony.
